Kyle Cragg
Founder, Board Chair & President
Kyle Cragg is a U.S. Navy veteran and business executive with more than 30 years of experience supporting national security missions, workforce development, and veteran-owned businesses. He currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Belay Technologies, where he helps lead growth, recruiting, and strategic partnerships within the Defense and Intelligence Community.
Throughout his career, Kyle has benefited from mentors, professional networks, and opportunities that helped shape his transition from military service to business leadership. As he has progressed in his career, he has become increasingly passionate about giving back to the veteran community and helping others navigate similar paths.
Through his work in government contracting and the service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) community, Kyle has seen firsthand the challenges many veterans face when transitioning from military service, building careers, or launching businesses. He has also seen the power of mentorship, community, and opportunity when veterans are connected with the right people and resources.
SDVOSB CMD was created to bring veterans, veteran-owned businesses, industry leaders, and community partners together to strengthen that support network. Kyle's vision is to create lasting opportunities for veterans, transitioning service members, military families, and the next generation of leaders.
Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
As I have reached this stage of my career, I've realized that some of the most meaningful work I can do is help others. I've spent decades learning the government contracting market, building relationships, and developing a network of leaders and professionals. SDVOSB CMD is an opportunity to give back, share those lessons, and help veterans connect with opportunities they may not otherwise find.
My son currently serves in the U.S. Navy, and one of the things that motivates me is helping build a framework that will be there for him and others like him when they transition from military service. I want veterans to know they are not alone, that there is a community ready to support them, and that their best years can still be ahead of them.

Throughout his career, Jake has focused on creating opportunities for talented professionals, supporting veterans in the workforce, and building organizations that deliver meaningful impact to government customers. Under his leadership, Belay Technologies has grown into a respected technology company supporting critical Defense and Intelligence Community missions while maintaining a strong culture centered on service, integrity, and employee success.
Jake understands the challenges veterans face when transitioning from military service into civilian careers and recognizes the importance of mentorship, professional networks, and community support. His experience as both a veteran and business owner has reinforced his belief that veterans possess exceptional leadership, discipline, and problem-solving abilities that can drive success in business and beyond.
Through his involvement with SDVOSB CMD, Jake is committed to supporting programs that strengthen veteran communities, expand workforce development opportunities, and help veteran-owned businesses grow and succeed.
Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
Veterans have invested their time, talent, and commitment in service to our country. Supporting them as they transition into civilian careers and leadership roles is one of the most meaningful ways we can continue to honor that service.
I support SDVOSB CMD because I believe strong communities are built through mentorship, opportunity, and collaboration. Veterans often possess exceptional skills and leadership abilities, but many still face challenges navigating career transitions, professional networks, and business development opportunities. Organizations like SDVOSB CMD help bridge those gaps by connecting veterans with resources, education, mentors, and a community that understands their experiences.
I am proud to support a mission focused on helping veterans, military families, transitioning service members, and veteran-owned businesses succeed. By investing in people and creating opportunities, we can help ensure that those who served continue to thrive long after their military careers have ended.

He believes that education, collaboration, and community engagement are essential to helping individuals and organizations achieve long-term success.
Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
Supporting veterans has always been personal to me. I was raised in a military family, with both of my parents serving in the U.S. Navy. Their service instilled in me an appreciation for commitment, sacrifice, and the responsibility we all share in supporting those who serve our country.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to benefit from mentors, professional relationships, and opportunities that helped shape my growth as a leader. Those experiences reinforced the importance of investing in others and creating pathways for success. I've also had the opportunity to work alongside veterans, military leaders, and veteran-owned businesses across the government contracting community, gaining a deep appreciation for the leadership, resilience, and mission focus they bring to every endeavor.
I support SDVOSB CMD because it provides an opportunity to give back and help others access the same kinds of support, guidance, and connections that have positively influenced my own career. Serving as Vice President and a member of the Board allows me to contribute to a mission that brings veterans, military families, business leaders, and community partners together to create opportunities, strengthen relationships, and help others achieve lasting personal and professional success.

Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
After more than two decades in uniform, I learned that the strength of any mission comes from the people standing next to you. The leadership, discipline, and resilience built in military service are extraordinary, but I have also seen how often that talent goes underused when service members transition out. Translating a military career into a civilian path, a business, or a renewed sense of purpose is rarely straightforward, and too many veterans navigate that chapter alone.
I was fortunate. Along the way, mentors and peers invested in me, made introductions, and opened doors I did not know existed. SDVOSB CMD is the chance to build that same network deliberately, to connect veterans, veteran-owned businesses, industry leaders, and community partners so opportunity is not a matter of luck. As both a veteran and someone now leading growth at an SDVOSB, I have seen what these businesses contribute to the mission and to the communities they serve. Helping them grow is part of helping the next generation of veterans succeed.
I also know the other side of that equation. After an IED attack that left me wounded and took the lives of teammates, the years that followed taught me that the hardest battles are sometimes the ones that come after the deployment or even after you hang up the uniform. Like a lot of veterans, I told myself for a long time that others were more deserving of help — that I should be fine. Being paired with Typhoon changed that. It taught me what every veteran on this board already understands: asking for support is not weakness, and no one should have to fight that fight alone.
That is what SDVOSB CMD is for. I’m reminded daily of the cost of service and of the responsibility we must take care of one another after the mission is over. Supporting SDVOSB CMD is a privilege and my way of continuing to serve — with Typhoon by my side — making sure no veteran has to navigate what comes next on their own.

Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
Throughout nearly 20 years in government contracting, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated military professionals our country has to offer. Their commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to serve something greater than themselves have left a lasting impression on me. I've also seen that while military members develop exceptional leadership, technical, and problem-solving skills, the transition to civilian life is not always straightforward.
I became involved with the SDVOSB CMD Charity Foundation because I believe those who have served our nation deserve every opportunity to succeed after their military careers. Whether through mentorship, professional development, networking, or community support, I want to help create pathways that enable veterans and military families to thrive.
The Foundation's mission resonates deeply with me because it is built around service, opportunity, and giving back. Supporting those who have sacrificed for our country is not only a responsibility but also a privilege, and I am honored to help advance a mission that empowers veterans and strengthens the military-connected community.

Why I Support SDVOSB CMD
Throughout my career in technology and national security, I have had the privilege of working alongside veterans and service members whose discipline, leadership, and technical talent continue to inspire me. I have also seen how often that talent goes under recognized when service members transition to civilian careers; particularly in fast-moving technical fields, where the right training and connections make all the difference.
As an educator and technology leader, I believe deeply in the power of education and mentorship to open doors. Supporting SDVOSB CMD lets me combine those passions: helping veterans, transitioning service members, and military families gain the skills, credentials, and networks they need to build rewarding careers in technology and beyond.
